Kbox SMG - Samsung NASA KNX Gateway

Kbox SMG - Samsung NASA KNX Gateway — KNX gateway

Product Features

Kbox SMG connects Samsung indoor units that speak the NASA protocol to a KNX automation system. The gateway wires into the indoor unit's F3/F4 communication line, drives the unit from KNX and reports its real state back to the bus.

Every NASA indoor unit type is supported: wall mounted, duct, fresh air duct, console and the cassette family. For Samsung's 360 Cassette models the device carries a dedicated CST360 Vane control block — the Spot, Mid, Wide and Swing airflow modes are addressable directly from KNX. This block exists only on Kbox SMG.

The setpoint can be limited to 18–30 °C in cooling and 16–30 °C in heating. Fan runs as 5 levels plus Auto, and the vertical vane offers 5 addressable positions plus Swing.

Integration Notes

  • NASA is mandatory: the device only works with indoor units that speak NASA. Older NON-NASA Samsung units are not supported — verify your indoor unit model in the compatibility finder before you specify the project.
  • Thermistor source: the "Selection of Thermistor" parameter decides which sensor the ambient temperature is read from. A KNX room thermostat is usually more representative of the room than the indoor unit's suction sensor; in that case feed the temperature from the bus.
  • Logic units: 10 "Additional Function" blocks run inside the device, each capable of 7 logic, 4 arithmetic, 6 comparison and 3 type-conversion operations. You do not need a separate KNX logic module for window contact, occupancy or sleep scenarios.
