Kbox DKN-M-S21 is a KNX gateway connecting to the S21 port of Daikin Multi air conditioners. Control on/off, mode, fan, temperature and vane via KNX.

Product Features

Kbox DKN-M-S21 connects Daikin indoor units to a KNX automation system through the S21 port. S21 is the service connector found on Daikin's residential and multi-split indoor units.

This model stretches the limits of the Kbox family in two places. First, fan control is addressed as 7 levels plus Auto — the highest step count in the family. Second, the heating setpoint can be taken down to 10 °C (10–30 °C), the lowest floor in the family and the basis for frost-protection scenarios in unoccupied spaces. In cooling the range is 18–32 °C.

Integration Notes

Do not confuse it with VRV: the S21 port is for residential and multi-split units. Daikin VRV systems use the P1/P2 line and need the Kbox DKN model. The two are not interchangeable.
There is no Slave Function: this model does not support running in parallel with a wired remote controller. Evaluate that at design stage on a project where the existing controller has to stay in place.
Vane control is not position based: the vertical vane is driven only by a 1-bit Swing on/off object; there are no addressable positions. The horizontal vane (Left-Right Wing) is supported.
Frost protection: a 10 °C heating floor, combined with a window contact or occupancy sensor on the KNX side, keeps unused rooms at a low temperature.
